COTHM Celebrates International Hospitality Day with Enthusiastic Student Participation

The College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) celebrated International Hospitality Day with great enthusiasm, organizing an engaging and learning-oriented event that showcased the creativity and professional skills of its students. Eight teams, each comprising five students (a total of 40 participants), eagerly took part in this unique activity designed to simulate real-world hospitality challenges.

The event was organized by Mr. Fraaz Kasuri, Director of Media and Marketing, and Mr. Muhammad Junaid, Hospitality Instructor at COTHM, who successfully managed and energized the event proceedings. The teaching faculty also took the opportunity to address the students, sharing valuable insights and motivating them to pursue excellence in the field of hospitality.

Each student team dramatized different “odd situations” that can arise in the hospitality industry and creatively demonstrated how to handle them professionally. Their performances reflected a deep understanding of service management, customer care, and crisis resolution, showcasing the practical skills learned during their academic journey.

The judging panel featured prominent industry professionals:

  • Mr. Mohsin Gillani from Yum Group of Restaurants

  • Mr. Naqash Munawar from Paola’s Cosa Nostra

These esteemed guests, who are managers of their respective restaurant chains, closely evaluated the performances based on creativity, practical approach, professionalism, and teamwork.

The event concluded with the announcement of winners:

  • Winner Team — invited for a complimentary meal by Spice Bazaar

  • First Runner-Up Team — invited for a complimentary meal by Paola’s Cosa Nostra

  • Second Runner-Up Team — invited for a complimentary meal by Benediction

In addition to the complimentary meals, all the judges were highly impressed by the students’ performances and offered job opportunities to all participants who took part in the dramatizations, recognizing their passion and potential in the hospitality industry.

The audience, comprising students, faculty members, and invited guests, thoroughly enjoyed the performances. Every act was a perfect blend of humor, professionalism, and real-world hospitality scenarios, making the day both entertaining and educational. The event received high praise from everyone present and served as a valuable learning experience for all.

COTHM once again demonstrated its commitment to providing practical, industry-connected experiences that empower students to excel as future leaders in the world of hospitality.
