Tourism in the Kaghan Valley has resumed after the rehabilitation of the Kaghan Highway, which was blocked by the recent floods.

The valley, with its waterfalls and springs, vast meadows, blue lakes and frozen peaks, attracts both national and international tourists.

Tourism activity in the region had come to a halt after devastating floods that destroyed roads and other infrastructure in some areas. Now, the highway has been restored and tourism in the region is slowly returning to normal.

The Naran Hotels Association has also introduced discounts on accommodation and food to rekindle tourist interest in the upcoming fall season. Discounts include 50% off room reservations and 25% off food and jeep rentals.

Hotel Association President Seth Matiullah said earlier this week that the discounts were introduced to restore tourism in kaghan valley the area and relieve stress caused by the floods.

Speaking at a press conference, he said: “We are saddened by the devastation following the recent floods in Swat and elsewhere in the rest of the country. As a sign of goodwill, we invite people to visit Kaghan Valley.
