Planning, Development & Special Initiatives of Pakistan Minister Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary has commended the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) for its significant contribution to producing skilled professionals in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Speaking at the Annual Convocation Ceremony 2025 held in Islamabad, Ahsan qbal highlighted the pivotal role COTHM plays in equipping the youth of Pakistan with globally recognized education and training, preparing them to excel in competitive industries worldwide.
Ahsan Iqbal emphasized the immense potential of Pakistan’s tourism industry and the importance of nurturing skilled labour to unlock this potential. He noted that institutions like COTHM are essential in providing the necessary expertise and practical skills to graduates, enabling them to thrive in both local and international markets. The minister acknowledged the value of hospitality education in driving economic growth, not only through tourism but also by creating entrepreneurial opportunities for young Pakistanis.
“I firmly believe that organizations like COTHM are laying the foundation for a bright future, where the youth can contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s economy. The hospitality sector, with its vast scope, needs skilled professionals who can lead the way in creating global standards and services. COTHM is playing an integral role in this transformation,” said Ahsan Iqbal.
The minister also praised the institute for its dedication to raising a generation of graduates who are equipped to meet the dynamic needs of the global economy. He encouraged the graduates to leverage their skills and knowledge, not just for personal growth, but also for the betterment of the nation.
COTHM, which has been a leader in hospitality and tourism education since 2002, continues to uphold its mission of empowering young people with the skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global job market. With over 60,000 alumni serving in prestigious positions worldwide, COTHM’s impact on the hospitality sector is undeniable.
