A distinguished business delegation from Portugal visited the Head Office of the College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) to explore avenues for collaboration in hospitality and tourism education and workforce recruitment in Portugal. The visit marked a significant step toward strengthening international partnerships in the sector.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by COTHM Founder/President & CEO Mr. Ahmad Shafiq, along with his leadership team including Registrar Muhammad Jamil, Director International Development Babar Sheikh, Director Media & Marketing Fraaz Kasuri, and other key officials.
During their visit, Mr. Ahmad Shafiq took the delegation on an exclusive tour of the COTHM campus, showcasing the institution’s state-of-the-art facilities, innovative training methods, and commitment to excellence in hospitality and tourism education. The guests highly praised COTHM’s efforts in developing a skilled workforce to meet the global standards of the hospitality industry.
In a productive exchange of ideas, the Portuguese delegation expressed strong interest in welcoming COTHM students to Portugal to take on various roles in hospitality and tourism. The initiative aims to provide international exposure and employment opportunities to the talented graduates from Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad Shafiq shared his enthusiasm about the potential collaboration, stating, “This partnership will open a new window of opportunity for our students to gain valuable international experience. It is an acknowledgment of the global recognition of COTHM’s training standards and the quality of our graduates.”
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing a commitment to move forward with mutually beneficial initiatives, including student exchange programs, internships, and job placements in Portugal’s thriving hospitality sector.
Ahmad Shafiq also presented traditional Punjabi turbans to the foreign guests, a gesture that was warmly received and appreciated as a symbol of Punjab’s rich cultural heritage.
