A member of Jahangir Tareen Khan’s group Awn Chaudhry has been appointed as advisor to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on sports and tourism.

As per details, former prime minister Imran Khan’s former friend Awn Chaudhry has been given the portfolio of ‘Advisor to PM on Sports & Tourism’.

The development has come under the power-sharing formula decided among all the coalition partners.

Being advisor to PM on Sports & Tourism, Awn Chaudhry will exercise the powers of a federal minister.

It is pertinent to mention here that tourism in Pakistan was barely restored after the block-out caused by COVID-19 but the change of government had put the sector in hot waters again.

Serious circles of tourism in the country are of the view that the government must appoint relevant individuals in the tourism department as it needs serious and expert attention immediately.
