College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) marked Iqbal Day in collaboration with Nazria Pakistan Trust at its New Garden Town campus. The celebration featured a series of engaging activities, designed to honor the life and teachings of Allama Iqbal, Pakistan’s national poet and philosopher.
A special highlight of the event was the Tehreek-e-Pakistan Photo Exhibition arranged by the Nazria Pakistan Trust. Curated by Professor Muhammad Zahid, the exhibition showcased significant moments from the Pakistan Movement, drawing the interest and participation of all COTHM students. The exhibition provided an enriching visual journey, giving a deeper understanding of Iqbal’s philosophy and Pakistan’s history.
The day continued with a vibrant ceremony, where COTHM students showcased their talent and passion through speeches in Urdu and English on Iqbal’s contributions to society. The students also presented Kalam-e-Iqbal, reciting his poetic masterpieces with fervor and emotion, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.
Adding a unique touch to the event, a drum circle brought students together in a rhythmic celebration of Iqbal’s teachings. The interactive activity was enthusiastically received, creating a lively and spirited atmosphere.
The ceremony was graced by Zaid Hussain, President of the Young Iqbal Scholars Club, as the guest of honor. Addressing the students, he emphasized the relevance of Iqbal’s teachings in today’s world, urging them to embrace his vision of self-reliance, unity, and progress.
The celebration served as a platform to inspire students to embody the values Allama Iqbal envisioned for the youth of Pakistan. COTHM remains committed to developing educational and cultural awareness through such meaningful collaborations and events.
