The College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) proudly joined the International Nutrition, Food Chemistry, and Culinary Science Conference held at the University of Home Economics Lahore as an exclusive partner. This significant collaboration marks another milestone in COTHM’s mission to enhance students’ growth in the fields of food science and culinary arts.
During the event, Mr. Fraaz Mehmoud Kasuri, Manager of Media and Marketing at COTHM, addressed the audience and highlighted that COTHM already has a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Home Economics Lahore. He further shared that both institutions are planning more collaborative initiatives to provide enriched learning experiences, particularly focused on culinary excellence and food safety.
“COTHM continuously seeks healthy collaborations to brighten the future of Pakistan by nurturing young talent and professional skills,” Mr. Kasuri stated. In recognition of COTHM’s partnership, he was presented with a shield of appreciation at the ceremony.
Adding to the occasion, Dr. Ayesha Iftikhar, Head of the Department of Food Safety at Diet Studio (a COTHM initiative), shared her expert insights on food safety and culinary sciences. She emphasized the importance of responsible food handling and nutrition in creating a healthier society. Dr. Ayesha also received a shield of honor following her address.
COTHM’s Department of Food Safety actively participated by setting up an awareness desk, where students and attendees were guided on best practices in diet and food safety. COTHM students enthusiastically engaged by asking meaningful questions, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing their knowledge in health and nutrition.
This collaboration underscores the shared vision of COTHM and the University of Home Economics in preparing students to become the most competent and responsible professionals in the culinary and food science industries.
