Success is a word made for those who remain consistent in their pursuit towards success. Likewise, an organisation reaches the pinnacle of structural growth if it remains steadfast in its approach towards the attainment of professional goals. College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) is the best example to quote in terms of organisational growth and professional development. Since its inception in 2002, COTHM has been a symbol of progression and advancement in the fields of tourism and hospitality. Coming with an altogether new concept and making its mark in the market has never been an easy task but the will of God combined with the hard work and commitment from the brains behind COTHM took this Lahore-based college to the levels of an international organisation. Throughout the journey, COTHM kept on adding feathers to the cap of Pakistan making the countrymen proud every time.
Now, when hospitality and tourism are not mere professions rather have become industries and the current government of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) has a clear intention to endorse them fully for accumulating revenue for the national exchequer, COTHM is going to launch a hospitality, travel and tourism television (TV) to make people aware of the scope of these industries. This hospitality and tourism web TV would cover almost all the areas related to hotel, restaurant, food, airline and travel industries. Specific programmes have been designed keeping in view the interest of a specific audience having interest in the fields of hospitality and tourism. Initially, COTHM TV is going to launch five programmes and a weekly news bulletin.
The details of all the programmes are as under:
Hospitality Lounge
In this programme, all the relevant stakeholders of the industry are invited to share their views on latest happenings in the fields of hospitality and tourism. The show is informative and problem solving in its nature as the experts are requested to share their experiences and opinions regarding the issues faced by the hospitality and tourism sectors. COTHM CEO Ahmad Shafiq is hosting the show. The programme is uploaded on the YouTube channel COTHM TV and the website cothm.tv on every Monday at 7pm
Diet Studio
In this programme, consultant dietician Ayesha Iftikhar talks on different health and diet related issues. The show includes discussions on food habits, wellness activities and necessary workout strategies. Individual experiences of the people are also made a part of the show and Ayesha shares her expertise on that. The show is uploaded on the YouTube channel COTHM TV and the website cothm.tv on every Tuesday at 7pm.
Global Careers
Global Careers is a program in which different career paths are explored and explained for the youth. The program help the students find various opportunities coming their way from different fields and areas. COTHM International Development Director Babar Sheikh hosts the show which is uploaded on the YouTube channel COTHM TV and the website cothm.tv every Wednesday at 7pm.
Lifestyle Studio
In this program, host Leena Imtiaz talks about the new trends being introduced in the fields of hospitality and tourism. Hospitality manners and etiquettes are also a regular part of the show. The show is uploaded on the YouTube channel COTHM TV and the website cothm.tv on every Thursday at 7pm.
Sayahat ki Dunya
This is an indoor/outdoor talk show in which the hospitality and tourism experts and professionals are invited as guests to talk on the contemporary issues. In the programme, the discussions revolve around the issues, achievements and future prospects within the fields of hospitality and tourism. The climate of the programme is engaging, informative and outcome-based to produce healthy content for the audience. The Hospitality Plus Editor Fraaz Mahmud Kasuri hosts the show which is uploaded on the channel on every Friday at 7pm.
News Time by COTHM
In this slot, pieces of information regarding hospitality, travel and tourism industries are presented in the form of a news bulletin on weekly basis. Experienced newscaster Maryam Zikriya reads the news items in this slot. The bulletin is uploaded on the YouTube channel COTHM TV and the website cothm.tv on every Saturday at 7pm.
COTHM TV Chief Executive Ahmad Shafiq while talking to Hospitality Plus said “COTHM TV is a dedicated effort for the uplift of the sectors of hospitality and tourism in Pakistan so that the world might come to know more about the wonderful hospitality and tourism opportunities in Pakistan.” He invited the people out there to watch COTHM TV and give their invaluable feedback for the web channel’s further improvement.
