De-Seal Monal Restaurant Orders Supreme Court To IHC

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has suspended the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) order De-Seal Monal Restaurant and has asked the authorities to let the administration open and run the restaurant.

While hearing a petition against De-Seal Monal Restaurant, a three-member bench of Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, and Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi suspended the IHC’s decision of closing down of Monal Restaurant.

During the proceedings of the case, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan asked that why Monal was not served a warning notice before closing it down. He also mentioned that “it seems that Monal is being targeted in this case.”

Justice Ahsan also asked the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) Chairperson Rina Saeed that IWMB was not a part in the case then why it was getting involved in it.

A Capital Development Authority (CDA) official told the court that the lease agreement of Monal Restaurant had expired six months back upon which the court referred the case to the relevant civil court and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
