Following its most successful year ever, Emirates Group, one of the major aviation holding corporations, has promised a 24-week wage bonus to nearly 100,000 employees.
An annual profit of AED 10.9 billion ($3 billion) was reported in the company’s 2022–23 annual report, a significant improvement over the previous year’s loss situation. Emirates has declined to respond, as stated by Khaleej Times. Some staff members have confirmed that they have received emails from Chairman and Chief Executive Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum complimenting them on the success of the business and assuring them that a bonus will be added to their pay in May.
In his email, Sheikh Ahmed also gave the staff advice on how to make the most of their bonus by saving, investing, or using it productively. Each employee will receive 24 weeks’ worth of their basic compensation, or six months’ worth, dependent on their individual basic salary. After receiving the news, some employees expressed their relief and joy.
They claimed that COVID-19 was a difficult time for them and that it felt as though nothing was getting better in their lives. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE, commended Emirates Group on this achievement and said it exemplified Dubai’s ethos.
