Pakistan’s tourism potential has been discussed a lot in the recent years. Not only local experts have highlighted it time and again but also international tourists and experts have termed Pakistan as one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in the world.
In a recent move, Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has announced to organize an ‘International Tourism Conference’ for the first time in Pakistan in which local as well as international brains will talk on the current and future tourism practices in Pakistan.
At this point of time when Pakistan is being discussed in the world as a favourite tourist destination and around 1400 climbers have registered themselves to summit different peaks in Pakistan, an international conference on tourism will definitely create a positive impact and a clear message will be given to the world that Pakistan is open for all types of tourism including adventure tourism, mountain tourism, and religious tourism.
We must appreciate the Government of Pakistan and PTDC for moving in the right direction in the pursuit of international acknowledgement for Pakistani tourism industry. Calling foreign tourism experts to talk on Pakistan’s tourism potential will definitely alert international hospitality and tourism think tanks and ultimately help Pakistan brand itself as a wonderful tourism destination.
Here, I would suggest that the organizers of this wonderful initiative should also invite stakeholders of the tourism industry in Pakistan and update them about the modern tourism practices being used and implemented in the world. One thing that should also be discussed in the conference is the Public-Private Partnership program. Maximum investors must be invited to let them know that how profitable it can be to invest in the hospitality and tourism initiatives in Pakistan.
At the end, I would like to appreciate and say thanks to all those behind the concept of holding an ‘International Conference on Tourism’ in Pakistan. It would hopefully yield better and positive results for the uplift of tourism industry in Pakistan.
