KP approves projects worth more than Rs. 12 crore in ITZs

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP Tourism) Public-Private Partnership (PPP) committee has allocated Rs 12.2 million for the development of tourism industry in the region, according to official documents.

The plan will be implemented in three Integrated KP Tourism Zone (ITZ) projects in Ganool, Mankiyal and Madaklasht regions. The committee has already officially approved the tender for ITZ Ganool, while those for ITZ Mankiyal and ITZ Madaklasht are in preparation.

KP Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan made the decision during a meeting of the PPP committee. The meeting was attended by Justice Minister Abdul Shakoor Khan, Chief Secretary Shehzad Bangash, Advisor to Chief Minister on Communications and Works Riaz Khan and other relevant officials and administrative secretaries. CM instructed officials to ensure that the above projects are successfully completed and that the ITZs are able to promote the region’s natural beauty and the region’s unique cultural elements, as well as accommodation, food, winter sports and recreational facilities.

He went on to say that the provincial government has taken several initiatives to accelerate the development of sustainable tourism to ensure the socio-economic progress of the province and exploit the tourism potential of the region for the benefit of the economic development of the province.
