Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) CM Mahmood Khan has directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and KP Tourism Authority (KP CTA) to fully focus on promoting tourism activities in the province, adding that all ongoing initiatives and activities must be completed in time for the tourism sector to reach its full potential.

The chief minister also directed that concrete steps be taken to make the various PTDC units in different districts of the province functional, and that all PTDC units that require minor repair work be completed as soon as possible and made available to tourists.

He issued these directives while chairing the third meeting of the tourism authority’s board of directors, which was held here the other day and approved the authority’s budget estimates for the current fiscal year as well as various other matters related to the province’s ongoing tourist activities.

Tourism police were established through the transfer of officers from the police department and the recruitment of 176 constables.
