Lahore Restaurant Association (LRA) proudly announces a landmark achievement for Lahore’s restaurant industry as the Punjab Government, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, removes operational hour restrictions. This monumental decision is a result of the relentless efforts of the LRA in advocating for the rights and growth of the restaurant sector.
Yesterday, the LRA delegation met with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to present the industry’s concerns regarding limited operational hours. The Chief Minister, renowned for her progressive and business-friendly approach, assured immediate action to support the restaurant community. True to her word, the Government of Punjab issued a notification today, stating:
“This office orders No.128/DG/EPA/2024 dated 15.11.2024 is hereby withdrawn to an extent of timing of Shops, Markets, Shopping Malls, Hotels, Restaurants, Fast Food Chains, Food Outlets, and exhibitions, keeping in view recent improvement in Air Quality Index. This order shall come in force with immediate effect.”
This decision has been lauded by stakeholders across Punjab’s hospitality sector, as it allows restaurants greater flexibility to operate, ensuring customer satisfaction while boosting business and employment opportunities.
LRA President Nisar Chaudhry while talking to Hospitality Plus said, “This is a monumental win for the restaurant sector, and we thank Maryam Nawaz for recognizing the significance of our industry. I also applaud the tireless efforts of the LRA team in bringing this issue to light. Together, we have paved the way for a stronger and more dynamic hospitality sector in Punjab.”
LRA Secretary General Ahmad Shafiq said, “The LRA has always been at the forefront of advocating for the restaurant community, and this achievement is a testament to our resolve. We are grateful to Maryam Nawaz for her understanding and swift action. This decision will boost Lahore’s vibrant dining culture and provide businesses the freedom to flourish.”
