Punjab Tourism Department and the University of Chakwal have signed an agreement to promote Chakwal tourism destinations and heritage sites.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Tourism Secretary Asia Gul and Dr Muhammad Bilal Khan, Vice-Chancellor; University of Chakwal. Both parties have agreed to work together to protect the district’s heritage monuments while also improving accessibility for both local and international tourists. To attract more tourists, both will collaborate to organise a Chakwal tourism festival in Chakwal in December that will highlight the district’s heritage and natural beauty.
The University of Chakwal and the Tourism Department will hold workshops, seminars, and conferences. The University will also launch a special research and development programme for this purpose.
Both parties will conduct field visits and report on their findings. The TDCP, along with other wings of the Tourism Department, will assist academia and researchers. Both parties will appoint focal points for the aforementioned tasks.
