Mountain tourism, which provides jobs and business opportunities, is the cornerstone of the local economy, according to Gilgit-Minister Baltistan’s of Tourism Raja Nasir Ali.He was the keynote speaker at a one-day conference on sustainable mountain tourism that Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Alpine Club of Pakistan, and other partner organisations organized to celebrate International Mountain Day 2022.

When women in rural regions have access to resources, services, and opportunities, they can combat hunger, malnutrition, and rural poverty and contribute to the expansion of International mountain day economies, he said. The  minister conveyed his appreciation to all the event’s partner organisations.
