While addressing a webinar on tourism promotion in Pakistan tourism, organized by the Pakistani Embassy in Jakarta at the Chancellery, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Muhammad Hassan, said there are many opportunities in the tourism sector in Pakistan and the government provides world-class facilities to tourists. Pakistan offers vast opportunities for all sectors of tourism, including mountaineering, adventure, and religious and halal tourism.
Ambassador Hassan highlighted the vital role of the tourism sector in the economy and appreciated the efforts of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Tourism Development Corporation of Pakistan (PTDC) and Pakistan Association of Tour Operators (PATO) in promoting tourism.
The event physically brought together more than 60 representatives from Indonesian travel agencies, the hospitality industry and the media, while representatives from TDAP, PTDC and PATO attended virtually. The ambassador talked about the unique aspects of Pakistan’s tourism industry and the different destinations. He said the embassy was ready to provide assistance to Indonesian tourists who wanted to visit Pakistan.
On the Indonesian side, the speakers were Andik Susanto Billi, popularly known as Billi the Backpacker, Havilah and Innoy, a travel vlogger who had previously visited Pakistan .
While expressing their keen interest in exploring Pakistan, the Indonesian speakers agreed on the need to improve tourism cooperation between them.
Billi and other Indonesian speakers shared their experiences in Pakistan, emphasizing the friendliness and hospitality of the Pakistani people, Pakistani cuisine and the natural beauty of Pakistan. Appreciating the message for organizing the seminar, they agreed that such events would raise awareness among Indonesians of Pakistan’s untapped tourism potential.
On the Pakistani side, Bakhtawar from TDAP, Saadia from PTDC and PATO Vice President Malik Azmat Awan made detailed presentations on Pakistan, covering the country’s thriving tourism potential and the various tourism promotion initiatives of the Pakistani government.
The embassy also distributed the guidebook on Pakistan tourism potential to the participants. At the end, participants were served traditional Pakistani and Indonesian cuisine.
