Chefs Association of Pakistan (CAP) made history by sending two Pakistani chefs, Chef Usama Asghar and Chef Faiza Iqbal, to participate in the Philippine Culinary Club and Global Chefs Challenge as Rookie Judges. The competition was held in Manila, Philippines from August 2-5, 2023.
This is the first time that Pakistani chefs have been invited to judge at such a prestigious culinary event. Chef Usama Asghar is a well-known chef in Pakistan and works as Head of COTHM’s Department of Culinary Arts. Chef Faiza Iqbal is a rising star in the Pakistani culinary scene and has been praised for her innovative and creative dishes.
“We are very proud of Chef Usama Asghar and Chef Faiza Iqbal for representing Pakistan at the Philippine Culinary Club and Global Chefs Challenge,” said CAP President Ahmad Shafiq. “They have made Pakistan proud and inspired other chefs in Pakistan to pursue their culinary dreams.”
“It was an honor to be invited to judge at the Philippine Culinary Club and Global Chefs Challenge,” said Chef Usama Asghar. “The competition was very tough, but I was impressed by the level of talent that I saw.”
