The Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA membership) decided Thursday to grant membership to pilots of all airlines operating in the country.

The decision was made on the recommendation of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Association (IFALPA) to open  PALPA membership to all other airlines in the country in addition to Pakistan International Airline (PIA).

A statement from the association to that effect states that in the first stage of the move to include all pilots on one platform, the association’s board offered associated season tickets to private pilots.

The statement went on to say that the decision is a “historic” measure to improve cooperation in the country’s aviation industry and promote a more professional environment.
