PFA, LRA meet for the good of restaurant industry

In a high-level meeting between Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and Lahore Restaurant Association (LRA) on Monday, multiple issue were discussed and suggestions were documented for the good of the restaurant industry in the future course of time. Reportedly, a delegation comprising executive members of LRA met with PFA DG Shoaib Khan Jadoon to discuss PFA’s star rating program and the issues and concerns of the restaurant industry.

LRA Chairman Kamran Sheikh, LRA President Nisaar Chaudhary, LRA Secretary General Ahmad Shafiq, LRA Executive Member Ammar Mohsin and other representatives including Usman Riaz from Monal, Fawaz Sheikh from Café Aylanto, Muhammad Yaseen from Café Zouk, and Ahmad Hassan from Haveli attended the meeting.

PFA DG Shoaib Khan Jadoon informed in the meeting that a pre-launch event will be arranged soon to take all the stakeholders on-board regarding PFA’s  program.

LRA Secretary General Ahmad Shafiq appreciated PFA’s role in encouraging a healthy food culture in the province but also mentioned that PFA, instead of creating an atmosphere of fear for the restaurants, must play a friendly role to boost business activities in the province.

LRA Chairman Kamran Sheikh said that there must be a schedule of fines to avoid on-the-spot heavy fines and penalties.

LRA President Nisaar Chaudhary said that start rating program is a good initiative and if handled well it can produce quite useful results.

PFA DG Shoaib Khan Jadoon said that PFA will take everybody on-board before announcing the results of star rating program and address the grievances of the restaurant owners so that the program may function smoothly.
