The Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) will shut down for 16 days next month to perform maintenance.
On Saturday, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued a notification announcing the airport’s closure. The airport will be closed from December 5 to December 20, according to the announcement.
The airport will be closed to repair its runway, according to Sialkot International Airport management. Alternatively, Lahore and Islamabad airports can be used. In related news, Airblue, one of Pakistan’s leading private airlines, announced last week the launch of two weekly flights between Lahore, the country’s second-largest city, and Riyadh, the Saudi capital.
The airline will operate flights on this route every Monday and Thursday, with the inaugural flight scheduled to depart on November 21.
Furthermore, for the newly announced bi-weekly air route, Airblue will fly an Airbus A320, allowing passengers to carry up to 7 kg of hand-carry luggage.
