The Balochistan Coastal Development Authority (BCDA) has in a meeting decided to launch projects for the development of tourism centres in the region, which will be set up under public private partnership.

The meeting in which it was decided was presided over by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani. It also reviewed the progress on the BCDA’s development projects aimed at promoting tourism in the province.

The secretaries of finance, local government, public health engineering and environment departments also attended the meeting.

While briefing the meeting, BCDA, Director General, Babar Khan Kakar said that a master plan of the coastline was being prepared and feasibility studies of five fishing sites had been included in the tourism promotion projects.

The director general said, “Seven eco-tourism resorts, construction of nine rest areas at the coastal highway and other projects had also been prepared”.

Along with the said projects, the province will have eight floating jetties, five beach parks and two nurseries of Salicornia, which are part of the development projects as well.

Resorts for tourists will also be established at Gadani, Miani Hour, Kund Malir, Ormara, Pasni, Gwadar Marine Drive and Jewani Sunset Point.

Aside from that, the chief minister also asked the concerned authorities to review the current composition of the governing body of BCDA and submit amendments to the law.
